So last week my daughter informed me that spring break is suppose to be a time that families do things together. Me being the type that isn’t overly fond of hanging out in mass crowds of people wasn’t initially keen on jumping on doing the normal amusement park / Mikey Mouse type vacation. I personally feel we all spend too much time waiting in lines; traffic, grocery stores, amusement parks, etc. But I digress.
Since we unfortunately will not be making our way back to NOLA this spring for French Quarter Fest we decided that we should probably do something now while she is out of school. With absolutely no set plans we decided to head south and just do whatever the day brought our way.
Day one landed us at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. Since this is the first time I have ever been here I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I assume the crowd of people that were here isn’t normal outside of spring break. Thankfully you are constrained to being in your vehicle and we were only occasionally disturbed by screaming children riding in the back of trucks.
This is an image I captured before entering the park just behind the gift shop and ticket purchasing area.
