A Night to HOWL

Finally it’s here, my favorite three months of the year. We call it fall, well at least I do. October through December is when our Texas weather finally cools down to bearable and I enjoy being outside in it. The air just has a different smell to it. Or maybe this is how it is suppose to smell and is masked by the aroma of melting asphalt during the summer months.

What I enjoy the most during this time is all the festivals. We usually start the season with Oktoberfest at the end of September. For the first time in years I decided to enjoy the fest without my camera in hand. This came as a bit of a shock to my wife as I normally always have it in hand. But I have realized that sometimes I need to just enjoy the moment of being with my family. We had a great time and I believe next year will be even better.

My second favorite fest of the season is Fright Fest at Six Flags. Ever since I was a kid I have loved going to Six Flags for Halloween. The decorations and atmosphere of the park during Fright Fest always seem to take me to a world of excitement.

Since my daughter lives for theater we are hard pressed to attend ALL the shows Six Flags puts on during the year. HOWL has always been one of my favorites. It is a singing and dancing performance with the cast dressed up. It is loud with lots of colorful lighting and high energy. We arrived just in time to catch the show last Sunday. We strapped the ear muffs on Brady and enjoyed another great show. Hopefully we will have an opportunity to see it again.

These photos can be seen at higher resolutions and larger sizes in my Web Gallery.
