A Day at the Track

A few months back I had the opportunity to go out to TCU and take some photos of a young lady who I have had the pleasure of knowing for the last 10 years.  Thankfully back in March the weather was nice.  Not raining.  Not 90+ degrees outside.  Relatively no humidity.  The two weeks of spring that we get in North Texas has got to be my favorite time of the year.  Right next to the three to four weeks of fall we sometimes get.

This spring day I had the chance to go and shoot some Track shots.  I had some ideas in mind and was able to capture some of what I was hoping for.  I have always loved shooting sports.  I think it is because the athlete isn’t a factor I have to worry about or control.  There is no posing and the lighting is what it is.  The athlete is giving it their all and that gives me the time to watch what is going on and make creative decisions working with natural events.

I have an upcoming senior shoot that touches on athletic skills and performing arts.   I can’t wait.
